Adaptive Reuse

Thoughtful creative approaches to the revitalization of existing buildings, structures and facilities.

Reinvent. Renew. Restore.

Celebrate History & Craftsmanship

Adaptive reuse projects typically involve converting an existing religious, institutional, or industrial building to residential and/or commercial use.

We love finding ways to celebrate the history, materials, craftsmanship, and spaces in an older building! The conversion process often “unlocks” elements of the building that were once mundane in the former use to become inspiring focal points. Over the course of each project, we become the building’s “stewards” – making sure the building will be well-loved and well-preserved for future generations to enjoy.

  • Restorations of historic exteriors, including sensitive alterations or additions where needed
  • Coordination of project approvals through the Historical Commission where necessary
  • Projects of all scales – from three-unit apartment buildings to a five-story historic carpet mill
  • Projects with all sorts of challenges – from derelict factories to beautiful, historic churches ready for their next chapter in the community
