Prescription Chicken

Designing a Restaurant for Success

Prescription Chicken is part of a larger revitalization of the food court at Philadelphia’s historic Bourse building, which once held the world’s only combined Stock, Maritime, and Grain-Trading Exchange. Over the years, the building turned over to office space, with a food court at its center. Today’s food court is re-imagined as a 21st-century food hall, complete with over 25 artisanal food options.

We were fortunate to work with founders Valerie Zweig and Taryn Pellicone to bring their idea for healthy chicken soup to their second location (the first one is in Baltimore). They came to us with a strong brand and a great location, but they still needed help bringing it all together.

Starting with a great design by Natalie Park Design Studio, we worked to fill in the missing pieces: engineering, permit drawings, and construction-phase services. Through thoughtful collaboration, we were able to bring it all together in time for their grand opening.
